Still Acting Gay is more than a witty title or a follow up to the authour's seminal study of gay drama, Acting Gay. What the reader gets is a comprehensive survey of gay drama right up to the present day, with a new chapter and a revising of earlier material. Clum is witty, analytical, and thorough, and as Lecturer In Performing Arts, I particularly appreciate the way he throws new light on texts and playwrights that we previously took for granted. Although there are some silly typing errors in the latter chapter, this is a wonderful book, of interest not only to gay men and theatre lovers, but to anyone who is curious to see and understand how minority groups have been represented on stage throughout the last century.
