Everyone in the village where Lizzie lives thinks that she's a dreamer - so it's no wonder that they don't believe her when she says she's seen a witch. But Lizzie doesn't care because she knows it's true and having a witch as a friend makes life much more exciting. Having been the subject of a major television series, Lizzie Dripping is now a household name. Helen Cresswell is a well-known writer and has written more than forty books.

A classic story about the fanciful and charming heroine, Lizzie Dripping --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Childhood revisited. A fantastic read for the young and young at heart.

I remembered reading this as a child so I bought it to read to my own children, aged 9 and 6. They quite enjoyed it but I think it is struggling to stand the test of time as it seemed very old fashioned in places. I have done the same with other books I remember from my childhood and they have enjoyed those much more, especially The Wizard of Oz which they loved despite being a much older book.

A wonderful story for girls. Lizzie Dripping kept my niece enthralled for hours. She wouldn't put it down.
